Join our team as the next Production Supervisor responsible for the manufacturing activities of an operational chemical process unit. As a hands‐on supervisor, you will work through lead operators and are accountable for safe, continuous and efficient operations resulting in the desired quantities and quality of our products. Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise Lead Operators with respect to operating parameters, procedures, production volume and quality, and meeting production schedules 
  • Oversee the manufacturing unit of various products carefully managing highly hazardous chemicals 
  • Stimulate maximum safety, efficiency and productivity of production personnel 
  • Ensure safe and efficient utilization of all equipment in the unit 
  • Maintain 100% compliance with all company policies, safety standards, environmental permits & regulations and good housekeeping practices 
  • Survey all operating data on a daily basis 
  • Determine areas of process investigations, determine causes and implement remedial actions
  • Prepare inventory and production reports
  • Responsible for proper maintenance and inspections as required under PSM
  • Prepare and maintain unit operating & maintenance records meeting compliance requirements and safety standards
  • Write new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and review SOPs for completion and accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Issue Hot Work, Line Breaking, and Confined Space permits as needed 
  • Participate in emergency response drills as part of the plant emergency Response Team
  • Attend Process Hazard Analysis / Safety Committee / Environmental Committee meetings
  • Coordinate and conduct safety training; update training programs and train new hires
  • Participate in evaluation and certification of personnel as far as operational capability
  • Schedule and order unit operating supplies, raw materials and coordinate product shipments with other departments 
  • Work with Plant Manager on other plant activities relating to operations, maintenance or engineering, working schedules and shift standards for unit personnel   

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint) 
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills

Education Requirements

BS Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience 

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in an operating chemical plant / specialty chemical manufacturing field
  • First line supervisory experience in a chemical plant or related manufacturing facility
  • OSHA & CAL/OSHA; Hazardous Material Handling experience
