Job Function

As the Southeast Regional Business Manager, you will spearhead a seasoned sales and market development team, collaborating closely with designated distribution accounts to meet regional sales and profit targets in line with AMVAC's Strategic Pillars. You will engage in cross-functional efforts across departments to advance key initiatives for future growth, focusing on strengthening AMVAC's Strategic Key Pillars of Core Brands, Green Solutions, and Application Technology.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Building Relationships: Establish and cultivate connections with assigned customer accounts and distribution partners, utilizing these ties to gather valuable feedback and bolster brand recognition.
  • Reporting Excellence: Ensure team alignment by delivering comprehensive monthly reports on customer interactions, providing actionable insights for strategic decision-making, and supplemented by verbal updates to the National Accounts Manager.
  • Sales Team Leadership: Lead and guide territory sales representatives, providing them with clear objectives and personalized coaching to optimize opportunities within their territories.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate closely with the VP of North America Crop and sales team to develop strategic key account plans aligned with sales volumes, brand objectives, and margin goals.
  • Financial Management: Exercise prudent financial management by overseeing annual expense budgets for the Southeast Region and direct reports, optimizing resource allocation for maximum efficiency.
  • Marketing Partnership: Foster collaboration with distribution partners to strategize and execute marketing initiatives for AMVAC products, enhancing awareness and profitability to meet regional and company-wide budgets.
  • Financial Forecasting: Deliver monthly regional financial forecasts that surpass financial objectives, providing valuable insights to drive company-wide success.
  • Market Strategy: Collaborate with product managers to identify market opportunities and develop strategies to achieve financial objectives by brand.
  • Travel Commitment: Approximately 40-60% of your time.
  • Team Management: Direct oversight of a team of 9 employees; Indirect supervision of 3 individuals.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: A college degree is required, with a preferred focus in Agricultural Science or Business. Additionally, at least 10 years of sales experience in the Agricultural Chemical or related Agriculture Industry is preferred.
  • Expertise in Agricultural Chemicals: Holds comprehensive knowledge of agricultural chemicals, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning in related areas.
  • Territory Management Responsibilities: Accountability for achieving overall regional budgetary targets.

  • Budget Management: Effectively manages allocated resources, ensuring prudent financial oversight and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Inspires and guides team members toward shared goals, fostering collaboration and high performance. Provides mentorship, delegates effectively, and promotes accountability to maximize team productivity and cohesion.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Focus in Agricultural Science or Agribusiness preferred
