Job Function

The State Regulatory Specialist manages state registrations and renewals for AMVAC Chemical Corporation and its subsidiaries’ product lines. The product lines are diverse and include conventional crop chemicals, non-crop chemicals, fertilizers, soil amendments and 25b exempt products. The Specialist is responsible for the professional interactions with the state and local regulatory authorities, trade associations, grower groups, customers, industrial partners and competitors. This role may also be accountable for management of certifications such as Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the regulatory activities at the state level required to support AMVAC and its subsidiaries business including maintaining state registrations; obtaining new registrations; and managing renewal activities for multiple products
  • Compile and submit required data and documents for product registrations and renewals across all States, districts and territories
  • Consistently maintain and update the regulatory database and other product tracking systems
  • Track and process payments of state registration fees including new product registration fees, annual state renewal fees, tonnage reporting, and other required state fees and licenses along with appropriate documentation
  • Expectations to be the subject matter expert with knowledge and understanding of current state regulations to convey critical knowledge to stakeholders (internal and external); and feed internal cross-functional teams required information in a timely manner
  • Provide regulatory support to several Federal Regulatory Managers
  • Respond to internal and external customers and provide accurate information in a timely manner
  • Participate in Trade Association meetings addressing State regulations as requested

Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years filing state registration packages for a crop / non-crop protection company (employee / consultant)
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs including WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint
  • Attention to detail; deliver high quality work product
  • Knowledge of ALSTAR database for filing registrations desired
  • Professional communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to operate effectively within a highly matrixed organization and regulated business environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment
  • Ability to think independently with superior problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; accomplished ability to multi-task
  • Able to follow processes and procedures both written and verbal and deliver objectives with minimal oversight
  • Must pass pre-employment background check

Education Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in scientific field (chemistry, biology or similar)
