Job Function

AMVAC’s Site Trainer for the Axis, Alabama manufacturing facility will create, track, and implement training programs for the entire plant collaborating with management and employees. The Site Trainer is responsible for updating and maintaining operating procedures (SOPs) pertaining to the training department.  They will also be involved in permitting work for the Operations Department to insure all safety procedures are followed per the training. The Site Trainer will be the lead on New Hire Orientations; provide training on equipment (forklifts, yard dogs, etc.) and work with off-site facilities as required.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement training programs for the Axis manufacturing site
  • Liaise with managers to determine training needs and schedule training classes
  • Support and mentor new employees; Conduct individual training sessions, if needed
  • Research, create, and conduct training classes on applicable subjects as directed by management
  • Maintain operating procedures pertaining to the training department
  • Train employees on Forklift, Lull, Manlift, and Yard Dog operations
  • Maintain training records and document changes to the records
  • Assist in MOC submission, as required
  • Train new hires and embedded contractors
  • Communicate to employees the expected production and safety standards
  • Help maintain HMIS printers in Formulations and Operations
  • Work with off-site facilities, maintain records and training information
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert in Web Based Business Manager APSM software.
  • Comply and ensure compliance with all regulatory safety & environmental requirements
  • Comply and ensure compliance with all company policies, practices and lawful directives working with management to communicate those policies to employees
  • Monitor employee performance and response to training and provide feedback to management
  • Perform other assignments as necessary and directed by management

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of working with manufacturing of chemicals and/or hazardous materials
  • 2+ years of training experience facilitating and delivering training to employees
  • Experience developing, presenting and implementing training curriculum & course materials to individuals and groups
  • Experience tracking and reporting training course completion and success rates with measurable improvement over time
  • Knowledge of teaching methodologies and tools required
  • Ability to learn and understand process operations
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing skills.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office (WORD, Excel, Outlook) required
  • APSM or other web-based Business Manager software experience desired
  • Must pass pre-employment physical and drug test
  • Must be able to pass Department of Homeland Security approved pre-employment criminal background check

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job desired
  • Relevant experience delivering training courses for manufacturing in lieu of a degree
  • High school diploma or equivalency required
