Job Function

The Liquids & Granules Packager assists AMVAC’s manufacturing department with the packaging of liquids, granules and powders to prepare products for shipping.  Reports to the designated Lead Person and Unit Supervisor. Day Shift; Monday through Friday. Excellent Benefits!

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare containers and cartons for production packaging operations
  • Position carton liners, pads and cartons in line
  • Fabricate cartons utilizing power or hand staplers
  • Operate labeling machine and make sure labels are properly attached
  • On and off load conveyors with empty and filled containers
  • Place and stack full containers in cartons and on pallets
  • Check completed package and verify all containers are filled correctly for weight and volume
  • Position and tighten caps on containers using manual torque wrenches
  • Fill containers by hand, opening and closing spigots; operate filling machine
  • Label drums, cartons, jars, bottles, cans, sacks as specified
  • Maintain environmental compliance by practicing good housekeeping, keeping chemicals and hazardous waste containers are closed, labeled and stored properly
  • Work safely with and around toxic and corrosive chemicals
  • Wear proper safety equipment (PPE) such as hard hat, safety glasses, chemical resistant aprons, dust mask, rubber gloves, respirator, safety boots, rain protection gear, as required
  • Operate forklift to move palletized, packaging goods, drums etc. to and from work area
  • Assist with chemical blending and formulations operations

Skills & Qualifications

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with co‐workers, supervisors, and managers
  • Ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations and fractions
  • Ability to operate Stapling machine, forklifts, power and other hand tools
  • Ability and knowledge to perform general fire safety tasks and fire‐fighting equipment, extinguishers, etc.
  • Perform miscellaneous dry powder blending work in other similar areas or as directed by Supervisor
  • Availability to work different shifts / weekends when required
  • Ability to lift full cartons, drums and jugs
  • Must also pass post‐offer drug testing, background checks and other appropriate testing and requirements as required

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
