AMVAC® Chemical Corporation has successfully served the results‐driven global markets through development, manufacturing and marketing products for agricultural and commercial use. This position is responsible for both Global Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and the Quality Assurance components of AMVAC’s Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) system and the associated document control supporting both of these business areas. As Global SDS Manager, you will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the organization and global key stakeholders and as QAU, you will be responsible for the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) of AMVAC’s GLP Program.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Global SDS Manager and Chemical Hazards Communication SME: 

  • Ensure that AMVAC’s Chemical Hazards Communication is meeting all applicable regulatory standards 
  • Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in Regulatory Affairs, Environmental Compliance and Logistics Departments (ECCN / UAT) across the organization and with other global key stakeholders 
  • Author and update product Safety Data Sheets (SDS) per OSHA and other applicable standards 
  • Generate and maintain International SDSs per guidelines from the related governing organizations in the target countries where we operate 
  • Serve as the SDS SME in the maintenance of AMVACs SDS Management across our Production and Technology sites using 3E Protect 
  • Work closely with our International and National Subsidiaries Sales organizations to support them in the authoring, review and maintenance of all SDS 

Manager of the QAU (Quality Assurance Unit) of AMVAC’s Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) Program 

  • Provide maintenance, training and document control of the overall GLP Program in collaboration with the personnel conducting work under the GLP Program 
  • Maintain the GLP Program Manual, GLP personnel files, Training Records and GLP Facility to ensure it meets the required standard at all times 
  • Review of GLP protocols verifying GLP standards are being met 
  • Act as QAU in reviewing GLP Reports making sure required formatting and standards are met 
  • Provide GLP Training as per the GLP Program requirements 

Skills & Qualifications

  • High‐level document control 
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements for the creation of formulated pesticide SDSs and experience applying those requirements 
  • Demonstrated application of GLP requirements in a Quality Assurance capacity 
  • Must be able to read, understand, and edit analytical methods and procedures as pertaining to the QAU function of the GLP Program 
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint) 
  • 3E Protect software; 3E Generate SDS authoring software 
  • Knowledge of Database design and operation a plus 
  • Highly organized, detailed oriented and able to influence and get work done through Subject Matter Experts that are part of other functions in AMVAC 
  • Accuracy, thoroughness and ability to perform work while meeting quality standards is a must 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision after initial training and appropriate orientation   

Education Requirements

  • B.S. in chemistry or closely related field; Advanced Science degree preferred
  • SDSRP accreditation a plus

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a GLP‐regulated work environment
  • Previous Safety Datasheet authoring and administering SDSs is required
  • Chemistry background preferred; other scientific education and experience will be considered
