The Assistant Supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient and environmentally sound operation of the Formulation Granules packaging facilities. The Assistant Formulations Supervisor operates from established procedures overseeing the activities of personnel to assure policy compliance and production schedules are met.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure efficient operation of the packaging facilities for Formulation Granules
- Coordinate packaging operations between production units and packaging facilities
- Coordinate turnarounds for production and maintenance
- Conduct lab sample pulls as required
- Communicate the expected production and safety standards to employees
- Assist with training employees and ensuring compliance with plant operating procedures
- Mentor and support Formulation employees
- Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & Standard Operating Conditions (SOCs)
- Track, investigate, and complete incident investigations (ll's) and Management of Changes (MOCs) and subsequent action items
- Assist in ensuring accurate time keeping of Formulation Personnel
- Assist in Root Cause Analysis of quality issues and safety investigations
- Operate forklift, yard dog, and track mobile following all company and safety requirements
- Assure that personnel issues or operational conditions are properly dealt with, including safety and medical emergencies, personnel issues, regulatory agency interaction, and technical (process) issues
- Perform routine Audits of the Formulations production area to ensure compliance and cleanliness of work areas
- Coordinate mechanical & electrical maintenance and l & E activities
- Assist the Formulation Planner to ensure proper inventory of Formulation materials and supplies; Order supplies and tools as needed
- Supervise the completion of routine inspections and regulatory interaction
- Plan & ensure that the operating and maintenance staff handle hazardous materials and wastes in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
- Manage the execution of special projects as assigned by the Formulation Supervisor
- Comply and ensure compliance with all regulatory safety & environmental requirements
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, practices, and lawful directives
- Perform other assignments as necessary and directed by management
Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of manufacturing or applicable experience - Chemical industry experience desired
- Knowledge of plant operations (manufacturing, distribution, maintenance) and Safety (OSHA) regulations required
- Ability to operate DCS systems
- Able to operate forklifts, track mobiles and yard dogs safely
- MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) skills are required
- Leadership qualities; Act as a role model and be someone recognized as a leader with excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills both orally and in written form
- Proven ability to handle complex process, business, and personnel issues independently
- Ability to physically meet the needs of the job in all types of extreme weather including climbing stairs, wearing respiratory protection, safely lifting up to 70 pounds, open and close valves, climb in pipe rack wearing fall protection, monitoring field devices
- Must be prompt, dependable and have a good attendance record
- Must participate in the Safety monthly blood draw program
- Must be able to participate in the respiratory program which includes but is not limited to being clean shaven and able to wear a respirator when safety needs dictate
- Be able to pass physical, drug tests and a Department of Homeland Security approved pre-employment criminal background check
- This is a full time, regular, exempt position which will require working nights and/or weekends as Department and Production needs demand
Education Requirements
- HAZWOPER 40 hour class
- HS Diploma or equivalent required
- AIDT Training / Vocational or technical degree preferred
