AMVAC is looking for an experienced Chemical Formulator / Packager for their Los Angeles manufacturing plant to work the Day Shift. The Formulator and Chemical Packaging person assists with the preparing liquids, granules and powders for shipping. Forklift experience desired. Interviewing immediately.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with blending and formulations operations to prepare products for shipping
- Measure, mix and package liquids, powders and granules per instructions
- Operate labeling machine and make sure packages are properly labeled
- Perform dry powder blending work as directed
- Check completed packages and verify all containers are filled correctly for weight and volume
- Position and tighten caps on containers using manual torque wrenches
- Operate filling machinery and fill containers by hand by opening and closing spigots
- On and off load conveyors with empty and filled containers (cans, bottles, cartons, drums)
- Maintain environmental compliance by practicing good housekeeping keeping chemicals and hazardous waste containers closed, labeled and stored properly
- Work safely with and around toxic and corrosive chemicals
- Wear proper safety equipment (PPE) such as hard hat, safety glasses, chemical resistant aprons, dust mask, rubber gloves, respirator, safety boots, rain protection gear, as required
- Operate forklift to move palletized, packaging goods, drums etc. to and from the work area
Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience operating manual and automated stapling machines, power tools and other hand tools
- Must be able to communicate effectively with co‐workers, supervisors, and managers
- Perform simple arithmetic calculations including fractions, measurements and weights
- Observe and follow instructions for general fire safety tasks and fire‐fighting equipment
- Availability to work different shifts / weekends when required
- Be able to safely move up to 50 pounds with assistance
- Must pass post‐offer drug testing, background checks and other appropriate testing as required

- High school diploma or equivalent
