Job Function

The Administrative Assistant - Production Planning carries out administrative and planning duties to assure the smooth functioning of the Planning Department for Amvac’s manufacturing plant at Axis, AL. As a member of the Production Planning team, this role is responsible for recording and tracking important information accurately and will communicate regularly with other departments in the plant.  Great organizational and communication skills required.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with production planners to ensure proper raw materials and packaging are calculated and requested
  • Create work orders for different areas of production
  • Maintain and manage multiple EXCEL files
  • Enter and track data in the ‘QAD’ (ERP) software database
  • Maintain hard copy files routinely and orderly
  • Partner with production planners to prepare necessary paperwork and relay information for other departments to insure timely communication and follow-up
  • Support production planners to request and track information from other departments
  • Assist with physical inventories (quarterly) for the Axis, Saraland, and Chickasaw sites
  • Communicate necessary information and provide support to the Assistant Supply Chain Manager
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety & environmental requirements 
  • Comply and ensure compliance with all company policies, practices and lawful directives

Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years' experience as an administrative assistant
  • Inventory Management / Production Planning experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Microsoft Office: EXCEL, MS Word; Microsoft Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Team player and committed to working in a quality environment
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Prompt, dependable and track record of good attendance
  • Able to work nights and weekends (if required) 
  • Must pass post‐offer physical, drug testing and other appropriate tests as required
  • Must be able to pass a Department of Homeland Security approved pre-employment criminal background check

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
